RV Corner

Hello Dear Parents,

2017 was a very busy and fruitful year. We have covered various topics in from basic principles of Islam to prophet stories. Besides, we had various competitions. Recent one was `Everyone is Reading About Them` which was a Victoria wide reading competition. Our students did splendid job and came 1st and 2nd. Apart from these diligent year 11 boys, Afreen Iqbal from Year 8 G was in the first 10. Well done to those who have competed!

As we are approaching to the end of the term year 7 girls had lots of revision classes to comprehend the topic deeply. We tried to enhance their learning through role playing and lots of group work. Finally in week 8 they made their own test papers to test their classmates.

It is the final year for Year 10 students to have Religion and Values as a subject. We wish all the Year 10 students best of luck in their VCE years.

Students just be thankful for this year where it brought you enjoy your holiday and InsAllah 2018 will bring you infinite opportunities, joy and peace.

Young Detectives Were On Duty!

Young student detectives of Ms. Ruby Sangha’s Year 10 boys were on a duty of investigation for a forensic crime case!

The private candy collection of the director of our school's forensics lab has been stolen as per the case scenario. The candy jar and empty soda can were found with the remaining candies spilled out. The students have investigated who could be the thief with a sweet tooth?

This investigation was quite exciting and fun as we built around the characteristics and students collected fingerprints from all of their classmates, their Science Teacher Ms. Ruby Sangha and Science Lab Technician Ms. Esin Celik and examined all the evidences from crime scene area!

I would like to express my gratitude to the Sirius College management for giving us the opportunity to attend conferences/ workshops for our professional development. Ms Taylor and myself recently attended STAVCON (Science conference) where we got to listen to a very impressive lecture of Dr David Martin, Chairman of M-CAM, on innovation, besides many other informative sessions on the teaching of Science. We also had the opportunity of looking at the first ever driverless car which was on display at LaTrobe University.
